About Us
The first Christian Bookshop in Bognor Regis was opened 47 years ago by Miss Elgar. Norman Todd took it over and moved to the present premises in 1971. He is still the Landlord. We (Tony & Lindsay) have had contacts with the shop since the 70s. Lindsay worked as a volunteer while attending the local teacher training College. She was living in a flat over the Crescent Road Bookshop when we met.
In 1994, when there was concern over the future of Living Word, we took it on. In 1995 we also took over The Chichester Bible Shop from David Olby and ran it until February 2006, when, sadly, we had to vacate because WSCC wished to sell the building.
The main shop staff, working with Lindsay, are Hazel, who does regular missionary trips to India, and Don, who is Bognor Regis Town Mayor for 2007/8. Because Living Word is independent, our stock is sourced from a variety of publishers and suppliers. We aim to provide a friendly, personal service and have a Reward Card system for our regular visitors.
If you represent a church or school, we will supply "Sale or Return" goods and will always quote the best possible price for bulk orders. Although we would love to see you in the shop, we are happy to post individual items to you --see Contact Us page --or deliver bulk orders within the local area.
